Lovely!

I received this dress as a gift and I love it so much. It is so high quality and elegant! I love the corset, the feel of the fabric, and the pockets! I had to exchange the size and it was a smooth process. I feel like the heroine of a vintage novel when I wear this and I will definitely purchase more from Poet. I can’t wait to wear this out! Thank you for designing such beautiful dresses!

BEST DRESS EVER

If you’re debating getting the dress, this is the review you’re searching for. This dress has it all: comfy fabric, a corset back, POCKETS, nursing friendly, and the ability to snatch your waist. I kid you not, it is impossible to NOT pull off this dress! This dress makes all of you look beautiful while maintaining modesty and functionality! And it is fully lined :) I promise, the only regret you will have is passing up buying it!

Healing my Inner Child/Femininity

This was my first purchase from Poet Dresses. I've followed and cheered them on for a while and have been wanting to get a dress from them. I finally settled on this one to start out. Dark green is one of my favorite colors.
Bit of a story: I measured myself and was just within the measurements for the XS on the chart, so I ordered an XS and it came within a few days which was very fast! I love the material feel. When I tried it on, initially I noticed it was just a little too snug for my liking (someone else might not have minded), but specifically a little too tight at my shoulders (I've been told my shoulders are slightly on the broader side), so I exchanged for a Small.
A friend also told me that linen tends to shrink a little bit over time, so I was sure the Small would work out perfect. And it did.

So if you measure yourself and your measurements are just at or very near XS measurements on the chart (say within a half inch for any of the measurements), I highly recommend sizing up to the S as the drawstring allows you to tighten it if/as needed.

At last, the new S dress came! I have no complaints with it. I appreciate the snaps in-between the buttons to avoid gapping and strengthen the front (I'm just careful with them), and the side zipper definitely helps in getting on/off the dress. I appreciate the slip underneath the main skirt, and I just want to wear this dress all the time. The drawstring back is so pretty and would make this perfect to wear to a Renaissance faire too. And this dress has pockets!!

I have not really been much of a dress wearer--I don't usually wear dresses except for formal occasions--but I think I realized it's partly because most if not all the dresses that I have are more for dressy/formal events, and this might be the first dress I've actually had (besides some ones from years ago) that was made to be worn as a daily dress. Also, I think the modest neckline is wonderful because it is so difficult for a small person like me to find shirts or dresses that are not objectifying or that I don't have to wear an undershirt with to fix a low neckline, and that I like.
I also appreciate the linen-cotton mix and avoiding plastics. It's much better for the skin.
This dress makes me feel like a princess--beautiful, comfortable, confident, dignified, and respectable. It's healing my inner child and helping me feel more comfortable in my femininity.

10/10 would recommend.

P.S. The poetry card that came with the dress is cute!

Bought 2 on sale, then promptly bought 2 more

The Sonnet dress is definitely my dream dress. I bought it in green along with the polka-dot green and white dress (blanking on the name) both were lovely and emphasize my feminine figure without being immodest. The sonnet dress though is just the best. I feel like the way it pulls in my waist is actually improving my posture without being uncomfortable. It’s SO comfy. I feel secure, it has pockets, it’s got medieval vibes while still being modern enough to wear to church or dinner. I love it so much I bought two more in different colors. My husband loves it and strongly encouraged me to spend the money because he loves how 1. Feminine and beautiful I look 2. That it’s modest and practical. He’s not one two push me to buy clothes so I was surprised but he loves those dresses and compliments me 10 times a day when I wear them. Since having 2 kids I feel like my pelvic floor is weak and my muscles in my abdomen are weak. The waist being so fitted made me physically more comfortable giving extra support while also making me so confident. 10/10 will buy more in the future.

Yaaay Charity I am so happy to hear it has been such a good dress for you! (I think you mean the Hymn Dress but either way I'm ecstatic~)
